Updating the Site
I began designing a new site using Expression Engine for my publishing system this summer. I just switched my site over from WordPress to Expression Engine. There is still much to be done, but I figure I might as well switch now. The current design has at least, if not more, than what I was doing with my other site using WordPress. I have found Expression Engine to be much more user friendly and fun to work with than WordPress. I’m currently using the free version of EE Core, but may upgrade soon to taste some of the modules that come with a paid license.
Hopefully over the next few months I’ll be able to continue to finish out my intended design for this site and add some more “features.”
ShiftWorship.com
I started working with ShiftWorship.com back in 2005. This is a redesign of their site. They offer motion and still backgrounds, countdowns and mini movies for the local church at a low rate yearly subscription. It's an awesome service!
Held Hostage by 24
The last two months my free time has been held hostage by 24 the television series. What started as 3 downloads of season 1 to my new video iPod has turned me into a slave of 24. In an effort to catch up to season 6 and be “real time” with others watching, we have been diligently spending our free time trying to get caught up.
What makes this already difficult is staying caught up with the shows we already watch like Smallville, Lost, House and now a week dominated by American Idol and many others. I am happy to say that we are about to begin watching the first episode of season 6. Not only am I happy to be getting closer to “real time”, I am extremely excited to regain time on my weekends.
The weather outside is warming up so I need some time to get some gardening done. It looks like 10 more hours of 24 and I’ll be released to do so.
Salsa Issue Solved
I was eating chips and salsa tonight. The salsa I was eating out of the jar. You know the problem you have when the salsa becomes too low and you can't get your chip down far enough because your hand can't fit through the jar opening? Well, I have a solution. If they would package the salsa in a Push-Pop like container your salsa would never get to far out of reach. Just push your salsa up and there you go! It's so simple.
